Abandonware is legal. Yes its free

People have asked me, is it true that abandonware games like those mentioned on the blog are legal? Its okay to download for free?

Yes. Under current copyright laws they are old and they are free. BUT... if it becomes too popular, often times a company will step in and reissue the copyright and then its no longer legal.

CASE IN POINT... Outlander, Master of Orion 1 and 2, Close combat a bridge too far, Some of the D&D Forgotten realms Gold disks, ETC. They aren't free anymore. You have to buy them from STEAM or from GOG.COM

So hopefully Omnitrend or another company won't come along and renew the games Breach 2 and 3 or renew Rules of Engagement 1 and 2 and charge an arm and a leg for it.

Welcome to Rules of Engagement and Breach!

HELLO! Welcome future space captains and Marines! This is the official fan blog and download site for The classic video games Rules of Engagement, Breach and Paladin!!!

NO! Not that dating game on the internet no! Rules of Engagement the Sci-fi simulation and strategy game that lets you become captain of a starship and create your own video game simulation or campaign anywhere! Your imagination is your only limit!

And in addition we have its sister and the game that can interlock with missions and campaigns on ROE, Breach! Yes! Breach 2 and Breach 3! The tactical marine strategy simulation that lets you command a marine platoon on enemy ships and planets! You can even write your own missions just like Rules of Engagement one and two!

Most of my games are based on Rules of Engagement 2 and Breach 2 and Three! Now and again I might post some stuff about Breach one for IBM or Amiga or The first Rules of Engagement. Personally, I prefer the second one and the Third Breach game! Awesome campaigns and Missions!! Single missions and branching campaigns!

You can also create your own captains, squads, Non Player Characters, Aliens, planets, solar systems, ships and so on! Imagination is your only limit!!!

We hope to be able to let you upload the campaigns of your own on a separate website! In the meantime! In the meantime enjoy what we have put out!!

BREACH 2: When you download and unzip the game unzip it in the same directory as Rules one or two in order to use the interlocking thing and play marine boarding missions! ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE!!! CLICK HERE!

BREACH 3: To install properly make sure its put in B3 directory OR IT WONT WORK! Copy the files from the B3 directory into the main directory B3 (DON'T CUT AND PASTE! JUST COPY!) The files from the folders. To play interlocking missions make sure B3 is in the directory for Rules of ENgagement 2. NOTE! B3 Does not work with the first Rules of Engagement!
