Time flies!
Yup! I had a fun summer! Hey! I got a couple of cool campaigns planned! More coming soon!
Do you have any advice (or files) that would help me to integrate Rules of Engagement 2 with either Breach 2 or Breach 3? I've not been able to get either game integrated with ROE2 and that sounds like a neat feature.
You put Breach 2 in with the same main directory with ROE2. Its a bit more difficult with Breach 3. I heard of someone on abandonia who did it but sound was deactivated.
Also do a search on google for older files about what file updates in the archive. There should be a link.
I spoke to Rolland, he's going to get back to work updating the blog later this month with a new update so don't worry.
BTW, how did you find this blog? I heard search engines have been excluding this blog
That's how I found this blog too, Kyle... I was looking around on Vogons.com and MyAbandonware.com for info on getting ROE2 and BREACH3 to link properly while running in DOSBox. I found posts that point to a patch that updates ROE2 to v1.08. I have a zip file of the patch contents, but there are no install instructions. I'll have to play with it to get the update installed, then test it.
Here are the whole contents of the UPDATE.TXT file for the patch:
Version 1.08 Update 08/01/95
In our continuing effort to provide you with the best software possible, we are providing this update to correct a few problems with your game.
This "patch" will update your copy of Rules of Engagement 2 from any prior version to version 1.08. To check which version you currently own, examine the version number displayed when the main game screen (the Cetus Amicus Directory screen) first appears.
To update your game, copy the files PATCH.EXE and ROE2-108.RTP to your main game directory. Then, type "PATCH ROE2-108" and press enter. After the patch has run successfully, you may delete these two files. However, you may wish to save a copy for future use should you re-install the game at a later date.
You will also need to manually copy INSTALL.DAT to your game directory. This file could not be included in the patch, since different versions exist for the 3.5" and 5.25" copies of the game.
The following files will be changed with this update:

I don't know anything about search exclusions, I found this blog via a link someone left on the page for 'Rules of Engagement 2' at myabandonware
